Report suggests LinkedIn may introduce gaming to its services soon.
LinkedIn, primarily recognized for professional networking and job-seeking, intends to integrate gaming into its platform to enhance user engagement. As reported by TechCrunch, LinkedIn is developing puzzle and word-based games akin to Wordle, with initial titles including “Queens”, “Inference”, and “Crossclimb”. Gaming, a lucrative sector for both mobile and PC users, has witnessed a surge in popularity, particularly puzzle-based games.
A spokesperson from LinkedIn confirmed the initiative but refrained from commenting on Microsoft’s involvement. Microsoft, led by Satya Nadella, has significantly expanded its gaming portfolio, encompassing Xbox, Activision Blizzard, and ZeniMax. With annual sales exceeding $15 billion, the gaming division has become a crucial aspect of Microsoft’s consumer business. Despite recent job cuts within its video game division, Microsoft continues to demonstrate strong financial performance, with revenue reaching $62 billion in the last quarter, marking an 18% increase year-over-year.
