Ram Mandir ‘Pran Pratishtha’ Ceremony Day 2: Ram Lalla idol to tour temple today | India News
With six days to go before the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the idol of Ram Lalla by Mysuru-based Arun Yogiraj will be taken on a tour of the temple premises on Wednesday.
At present, the eyes of the idol have been covered with a piece of cloth. The idol’s eyes will remain covered while it is taken on a “Shobha Yatra” or “nagar bhraman” (around the temple premises) on Wednesday afternoon. The cloth will be removed on the day of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, January 22.
The series of rituals leading up to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the new temple began in Ayodhya on Tuesday. The rituals began with the ‘pradhan yajman’ (main host) for all rituals — Anil Mishra, a member of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust — taking a dip in the Saryu river, amid chanting of mantras, and then taking ‘panchgavya’ (cow milk, curd, ghee, gobar and gau mutra), after which he began a fast.
On Wednesday, several rituals, including the “teerth Pujana,” “Jal Yatra,” and “gandhadivas”are scheduled to take place. During the ‘Jam Yatra’, water will be collected from the Saryu river and brought to the temple premises.
On January 22 at 12:20 pm, the Pran Pratihshta rituals will be concluded in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the others.
