The disappearance of two Meitei teenagers who had left their homes in Imphal West Sunday sparked fresh tension in Manipur’s valley areas.
The teenagers—Avinash Maibam (16) and Anthony Ningthoujam (19)—had reportedly left their homes in Lamsang around 9 am to go to Sekmai in Imphal West but did not return. A missing person complaint was registered by the Lamsang police.
On Monday, the phones of the two boys were recovered wrapped in a black plastic bag near an oil pump in Senapati district, a Kuki-Zomi dominated district.
