Retd district attorney hacks wife to death in Ludhiana | Chandigarh News

A retired district attorney in his eighties allegedly murdered his wife at their home in Gurdev Nagar of Ludhiana on Wednesday.
After killing the woman, he himself made a phone call to his son and narrated the whole incident. The Division number 5 police arrested the accused.
The victim was identified as Manjeet Kaur. She was living with her husband Harcharan Singh in Gurdev Nagar, while their son lives in Patiala.

Sub-inspector Neeraj Chaudhary, SHO, Division number 5 police station, said the police had received a call from the son of the couple who informed them about the incident, following which they reached the spot and found the woman lying dead.
The SHO added that Harcharan Singh hacked his wife with a sharp-edged weapon, causing severe injuries, which led to her death. According to the police, the couple had a strained relationship for a long time.
The SHO said the police have recovered the weapon from the spot. The body has been sent to Civil Hospital for postmortem. A murder case has been lodged against Harcharan Singh.
