Haryana CM Khattar visits communal violence-hit Nuh village, offers prayers at Nalheshwar temple | Chandigarh News

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Saturday visited Nalhar village in Nuh district and offered prayers at the Nalheshwar Shiva temple.
Khattar also visited the residence of Shakti Singh, 35, who was killed in the communal violence that broke out in Nalhar during a Hindu procession on July 31.

The CM promised his family members that the district administration shall bear full responsibility in the education of his children. He also interacted with the local residents.
“The Chief Minister expressed grief over the unfortunate incident that occurred on July 31. He stressed upon the government’s sensitivity towards the people affected by the violence. Compensation is being provided to the families of those who suffered loss of life and property through the e-khastipoorti portal, with some cases still under investigation,” a government spokesperson said.

CM Khattar also laid the foundation of the Yagyashala at the Gurukul in Bhadas village. He inspected the ‘gaushala’ (cow shelter) and provided necessary directions to the officers concerned.
“On his way to another location, the chief minister also stopped his convoy and interacted with the children who were playing on the roadside. He asked them about their education and motivated them to join armed forces to serve the nation,” the spokesperson said.
CM Khattar pays tributes to martyrs of police force
At Nuh, CM Khattar also paid tributes to the martyrs of the police force on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day. “During the event, the Chief Minister draped a shawl on Sunita Devi, widow of martyred constable Satyaveer who lost his life at a checkpoint while trying to stop illegal mining, and offered his respects to Siddharth (Under Training), the son of the late DSP Surender, resident of Sarangpur village of Hisar, who lost his life while preventing illegal mining in Tauru,” the spokesperson said.

On the occasion, Superintendent of Police Narender Bijarniya read out the names of 189 soldiers who sacrificed their lives while performing duties in different parts of the country in the last year.
“Haryana Police is one of the leading police forces in the country and the government has taken several initiatives to support the welfare of police personnel and their families. The government has taken historic steps to ensure the well-being of police families, such as providing financial assistance to the families of martyrs and offering ex-gratia jobs to their family members. There are provisions for police families’ children in police lines, including Police Public Schools and e-libraries,” CM Khattar said while addressing the gathering.

He highlighted the facilities such as medical check-ups arranged for police personnel, and other amenities like flats, community centres, and gyms provided to the officials.
CM Khattar said that merit-based government job opportunities have reduced the need for recommendations. “Qualifications serve as the sole criteria for employment,” he asserted.
He also appealed to the police personnel to maintain a compassionate approach towards the public, especially towards children, the elderly, and women, while also maintaining a tough stance against criminals.
