He said, “We hit them. We assaulted them. Police came to the scene and they took us with them. They took me and Raza Murad. There was Jagdish Sodi and others and the police took us with them. Tanjea saab, who was our guru, came to the station and bailed us out. But our principal was very angry. He said, ‘I will not spare these troublemakers.’ So we were rusticated.”

The actor continued, “However, when we were rusticated, the rest of the students from the acting department said, ‘If you remove them, we will go on a strike.’ There was a strike and it went on for 45 days. Then the industry members were called to come and solve the problem. There was BR Chopra in that and AK Abbas and a few others. They called the boys who created this mess. Chopra uncle said, ‘Beta, you were not like this, why have you started fighting?’ I apologized and then they told the principal to let go of this one time. The matter was solved and they took us back.”

Kiran Kumar added that, following the resolution of the matter, Abbas invited him to his guest house. Expecting a scolding, Kiran was taken aback by what transpired there. To his surprise, Abbas offered him a role in his film. “I am making a film, I need a ‘lambu’ engineer. Will you do it?,” the director asked him. An excited Kiran said yes and signed the film for Rs 7, 500.
