Four die in accident on Delhi-Jaipur highway | Delhi News

Four people died after a truck hit into a car and a pick-up van on Delhi-Jaipur highway on Friday night in Gurgaon, police said.

According to Bilaspur police, an oil tanker coming from Jaipur skidded through the divider, collided with a car. Soon, it collided with a pick-up truck. The three occupants in the car burnt to death while the pickup driver was trapped inside the vehicle and by the time he was retrieved by the police, he was dead.

The truck driver fled the scene soon after the accident. Police said they were informed of the incident at 11 pm on Friday night. The remains of the bodies inside the car have been sent to forensics, police said.

Police said they received information about a car catching fire near Triveni Hotel Sidhrawali, Bilaspur. Upon receiving the information, the Bilaspur police team and the fire brigade reached the scene and extinguished the fire.

“A 16-wheeler truck coming from Jaipur crossed the divider and hit a Datsun Go car and a pickup van. The collision resulted in a fire due to CNG leakage in the car. Three occupants in the car succumbed to the flames. The deceased occupants of the car have been identified as Jitendra, a resident of Samalkha in Panipat, Lokesh Saini, a Jind resident and Pavan Dubey, from Bihar.

The driver of the pickup, identified as Trilok Sharma alias Deepak, residing in Chilhad village, Pataudi, also lost his life in the accident,” police said.

The Bilaspur police team is taking further action in accordance with the law by filing charges under Section 279 and 304A of the IPC related to the incident, police said.
