The Western Railway (WR) Mumbai division took nearly 12 hours to fix the overhead electric (OHE) wire breakdown between Dahanu Road and Vangaon station reported at 11pm on Tuesday. The line was fixed at 10:33 am on Wednesday.

Due to the OHE breakdown, local trains services were affected largely from Virar to Dahanu along with long distance mail/ express services were running significantly late.

An official from WR said that the home signal of 25 Kilowatt OHE wire was disrupted between Vangoan and Dahanu for one kilometre in the down direction. Therefore, as an alternative provision, the mail trains were pulled using a diesel engine between this section.

As per the WR around 12 Mail/ Express trains were delayed in Up direction on Wednesday morning whereas seven Mainline Electrical Multiple Units (MEMU) and 12 Dahanu locals were cancelled following the technical disruption.
