The Western Railway (WR) Mumbai division took nearly 12 hours to fix the overhead electric (OHE) wire breakdown between Dahanu Road and Vangaon station reported at 11pm on Tuesday. The line was fixed at 10:33 am on Wednesday.
Due to the OHE breakdown, local trains services were affected largely from Virar to Dahanu along with long distance mail/ express services were running significantly late.
As per the WR around 12 Mail/ Express trains were delayed in Up direction on Wednesday morning whereas seven Mainline Electrical Multiple Units (MEMU) and 12 Dahanu locals were cancelled following the technical disruption.

Massive crowds formed at Virar station on Wednesday morning as thousands of commuters travel towards Dahanu to Boisar, which has several industrial units. Due to suburban train services from Virar towards Dahanu being affected, daily commuters were largely inconvenienced.
Meanwhile, the WR asserted that no local services along Churchgate to Virar were affected due to this problem.
However, due to the ongoing sixth line work between Khar and Goregaon, 233 local services remain cancelled as notified on Wednesday.
