WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging platform recently introduced a Telegram-like Channels feature, which is basically a one-way broadcast tool that lets users share updates in a new tab called ‘Updates’. Now, the Meta-owned platform seems to be working on the ability to share voice notes and stickers in Channels.

According to WABetaInfo, the features are currently under development and will be available for channel admins in a future version of the app. Currently, WhatsApp users can only send text messages, photos, videos and GIFs on their Channels. Going by the screenshot, it looks like voice notes and stickers will appear similar to how they do in personal chats.

Spotted on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.23.2, the upcoming functionalities will offer new ways for celebs to communicate with their audience and might result in better engagement, more followers and dynamic content.

WhatsApp says Channels are designed to be the most private broadcast service as it does not show your phone number or profile photo to a Channel’s admin or other members. Similar to Telegram, WhatsApp also lets users react to updates using emojis while hiding their reactions from others.

Last week, WhatsApp started rolling out support for multiple accounts on the same device and was reportedly working on a new ‘protect IP address’ feature for calls, ‘secret code’ for locked chats, option to disable Instant Video Messages and more.
