As a special case, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) gave a job to the wife of a fireman who died while trying to rescue a bat on Tuesday. The move came after the family members sat in protest over their demands.
The fireman, identified as Anil Parmar, was charred to death while trying to rescue a bat hanging from a high-tension wire on the Bopal-Ghuma Road in West Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
In a statement signed by two deputy municipal commissioners and addressed to Parmar’s wife Dipti, the AMC expressed its sorrow and said, “In a special case, it has been decided to appoint Mrs Diptiben Anilbhai Parmar in the appropriate cadre of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation by taking into account her educational qualification.”
