A 33-year-old woman allegedly killed herself by jumping with her infant daughter from the balcony of her 16th-floor residence at a high-rise society in Greater Noida West. Police said the incident took place in La Residentia society around midnight Wednesday. The infant didn’t survive the fall, added police.
The woman was living with her family in the society. Police said she was suffering from depression and was undergoing treatment. Her husband works for a private company in Noida.
Arvind Singh, SHO of Bisrakh police station, said police were informed of the incident by a security guard at the residence. “A team reached the spot and started an investigation. Her family said the woman got married in 2021. Her brother said that since giving birth to her daughter six months ago, she had not been in good physical health and was also suffering from depression,” said Singh.
The SHO further said no case has been registered in the matter. “The family has given to us in writing that there is no crime in the incident and they do not want to file a case against anyone,” added Singh.
