20 aspirants eye Congress ticket for Pune LS seat | Pune News

Gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections, as many as 20 aspirants on Tuesday submitted their application for contesting the Pune seat on a Congress ticket.

Among the aspirants include city Congress chief Arvind Shinde, MLA Ravindra Dhangekar, former MLAs Balasaheb Shivarkar, Mohan Joshi, Anant Gagil, Dipti Chowdhary, senior leaders Ulhas Bagul, Abhay Chhajed, Sanjay Balgude, Datta Bahirat, Gopal Tiwari, Virendra Kirad and Sangeeta Tiwari. Radio Jockey Sangram Khopade too has sought ticket a Congress ticket.

“We have submitted the list of aspirants to the state Congress unit,” said city chief Arvind Shinde.

Last week, state Congress president Nana Patole reviewed party preparations for the Pune Lok sabha seat and appealed the party cadre to ensure victory of the candidate chosen by the Maha Vikas Aghadi.
