Long queues were seen outside fuel pumps in Punjab on Tuesday as the transporter strike affected fuel supplies in the state.
The President of Mohali Petrol Pump Association Ishwinder Mongia told The Indian Express that he has spoken to many fuel pump owners in the state who told him that the scheduled fuel supply has not reached for the past three days.
“By today evening, around 70 per cent of fuel pumps in the state will run dry, we are expecting the transporters to restore the supply,” Mongia said.
Jasbir Singh, a Mohali resident said that his friend told him to get his car filled as there would be no fuel available soon. Jasbir, who was filling the car at Landran, added that he had been waiting in the queue since 9.30 am and finally managed to get fuel by 12 pm.
