MINUTES after he was discharged from a private hospital where he was admitted 10 days back, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil reminded the state government of his December 24 deadline to provide reservation to the community.
”I want to once again remind the government that December 24 is the deadline for announcing reservation to the Maratha community. I hope the government will live up to the promise that it made,” Jarange-Patil told reporters in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar today.

Jarange-Patil was admitted to the private hospital on November 2 after he ended his nine-day fast-unto-death at Antarwali Saraati village in Jalna district, demanding reservation for Maratha community.
Jarange-Patil said he was feeling much better and his weight has also increased in the past few days of his hospital stay.
”I was in the hospital for last 8-10 days….Today, I have been discharged. I once again want to appeal to Maratha youths to not end their lives. Though I have recovered, I will not be going home. When my brothers have ended their lives for reservation, how can I celebrate Diwali ? I urge the Maratha youths to keep hopes alive. We are getting reservation. The government has started distributing the Kunbi caste certificates,” he said.
