A doctor in Ghaziabad alleged that he was beaten up by security personnel of poet Kumar Vishwas after they tried to overtake his car. However, Vishwas claimed it was his security men who were attacked by the doctor for “unknown reasons”.

According to police, the incident took place Wednesday afternoon under a flyover near the Hindon river in Indirapuram police station area. Police have taken cognizance of the case and said the matter is being investigated.

Swatantra Kumar Singh, ACP Indirapuram, said: “Dr Kumar Vishwas informed via a post on X and through a call that while going to Aligarh, his car was hit by an unknown person under the flyover near Hindon river and CRPF security personnel accompanying him were attacked. Around 3 pm, a person named Pallav Vajpayee came to Indirapuram police station and said that while going home from the hospital, he was assaulted by private security personnel at the same spot for overtaking his car.”

He further said, “Police took cognizance of both incidents… Further action will be taken soon based on the investigation.

Vishwas wrote on X, “Today, while going towards Aligarh… a car driver tried to attack the car of the security personnel traveling with me by hitting it from both sides. When security personnel stopped the man for questioning, he attacked not only the UP policeman but also security personnel of the Central forces…”

In a counterclaim, Vajpayee, sporting a bloody nose, told the media in a video that he gave way to a police van that tried to overtake his car. “A black car was following me. They stopped my car and then started an argument and attacked me. I called 112, but nobody arrived at the spot,” he alleged.
