Commuters can now buy QR tickets, shop at virtual stores, reserve digital lockers and pay utility bills on Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) newly launched Momentum 2.0 app. The app was a joint initiative between DMRC and AutoPe Payment Solutions.

The app offers integrated QR tickets for all metro lines, including the Airport Line. Additionally, one can also recharge their DMRC card. Users can also set up an auto-pay for when their card balance falls below a certain threshold.

The DMRC will slowly migrate its users from their current DMRC Travel app to the Momentum 2.0 app, said officials.

It features an e-shopping option aiming to enable commuters to conveniently shop for groceries and essential items at metro stations. Virtual stores are already available at 20 stations, with plans to expand to most stations by June 2024.

For passengers seeking secure deliveries, the app offers a Smart Box feature. These digital lockers, available at 50 metro stations, provide secure, tech-enabled management of parcels and products, ensuring swift delivery and retrieval. They can be used by banks to deliver items like cheque books, debit cards, and credit cards, as well as by e-commerce companies.

Currently, commuters can book a locker for one to six hours, starting at 20 rupees per hour. The lockers are available in three sizes and the charges for them vary upon size. So far no penal charges have been introduced for people who surpass the six-hour limit.

The app will also allow users to pay utility bills such as electricity, gas, mobile, DTH, and FASTag. In addition to these services, the app provides station information, including facility locations, gate details, lift and escalator information, platform locations, and first and last train timings. Passengers can also plan their exit strategy by arranging a bike or cab pickup at the right time in a designated area.

Finding food outlets or ATMs becomes a breeze with the app, which offers information on shops, outlets, kiosks, and ATMs available at metro stations. Passengers can explore these options during their arrival or departure, adding convenience to their metro journeys.
