A 52-year-old deputy superintendent posted at Panipat Jail died of a heart attack early Monday while working out at a gym Monday morning, sources close to the family said.

According to his friends, deputy superintendent Joginder Deswal was fit and used to go for a walk or gym daily at 5 am.
“I received a phone call at 6:15 am Monday that he fell down in the gym due to dizziness. He was rushed to a private hospital. But it appears he had collapsed on the spot after a heart attack,” a friend of his said.
Deswal, who is from Karnal, also practiced as an advocate before joining the prisons department. Even after joining the department, he used to visit the court complex to meet them, according to his friends.
