Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, while speaking at an event — ‘Amrit Kaal Vimarsh’ — at IIT Guwahati on Sunday, urged the students to watch the movie Mohenjo Daro. He said the film shoot near the ancient site of Dholavira provides insights into the civilisation that was present in India nearly 5,000 years ago. He said they had water harvesting, town planning, and mud-plastered walls, remnants of which are still there. Mandaviya added that in his previous post in the Ministry of Port, Shipping, and Waterways, he worked to visualise Lothal, another Harappan site in Gujarat, as the port city that it once was.
Claiming The Rights
Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav, on Saturday participated in the ‘Women’s Rights Conference’ organised by the DMK in Chennai along with other women leaders of the INDIA bloc. It was the first such big political platform outside Uttar Pradesh where Yadav represented her party and shared the stage with prominent leaders from different parties. Speaking at the event, she said the SP has always stood for women’s rights and equal participation in society, upholding the true values of socialism. A three-time MP, Dimple has started participating in political programmes in Uttar Pradesh after her election from Mainpuri in a bypoll last year.
